Young Hungarian Csilla (Orsi Tóth) wakes up inside a crashed car in the middle of nowhere, not knowing where her brother Isti is. He has vanished without a trace. As she promised him, she boards a freighter to find a new life. Then the shady Gábor (Roland Rába), a self-proclaimed businessman crosses her path. Hallucinogenic, surrealist trip in the twilight zone between life and death.

Silent Ones won 11 awards out of 15 nominations, among others Best Director, three times Best Film and three times Best Cinematography. The film was screened at many international and independent film festivals such as Rotterdam Film Festival (nomination Tiger Award), Sarajevo Film Festival, Mostra São Paulo (New Directors Competition), Moscow Film Festival, T-Mobile New Horizons (Competition), New York, Berlin, Los Angeles, Toronto and many others.

Silent Ones is released on DVD by De Filmfreak distribution and is also available on VoD platforms such as iTunes, Filmdoo and Ziggo. French sales agent Wide Management picked up international sales of Silent Ones. Distributor Contact Film released the film theatrically in the Benelux. Silent Ones is supported by the Netherlands Film Fund and the Mondriaan Foundation.
